Joyful Generations Building Campaign

Summit Classical Christian School is now the proud and grateful owner of 1040 12th Ave NW in Issaquah WA!

By the grace of God and your generosity, we officially closed on the purchase of our new building on December 28th, 2023. This is an historic day in the life of our school, and we are so grateful for God’s faithfulness throughout this journey. This is a moment worthy of celebration!

We can also say your faith-filled giving and pledges over recent weeks have allowed us to engage a general contractor, putting us in a position to start construction as quickly as possible once we receive our permits. Well done!

But the journey is not over. We still need to receive our construction permits from the city of Issaquah, and we prayerfully plan to raise another $4 million as soon as possible.

So here’s how you can participate today:

  • Please consider making a donation. We still need to raise additional funds to complete renovations, and purchase furniture and equipment. Donations (as opposed to loans) not only allow us to move quickly, but they also allow the school to avoid additional borrowing, putting the school in an exponentially healthier financial position for the long term. To make a donation, please see the instructions below.

  • Please consider making a pledge. Even if you are unable to make a donation at this time, pledges today for gifts that will be given some time over the next 1-3 years are very helpful for our planning purposes as we navigate funding options. To make a pledge, please simply send an email to joyfulgenerations@summitclassical.org.

  • Please consider making a Semble investment. Semble investments are still an option, and can help us to avoid or replace more expensive financing options. Please consider lending your retirement funds or cash to the school for 5 years and receive up to 4% interest along the way. CLICK HERE to learn more or begin the process.

  • Please pray for the building permit. Our permit application is on track and we have received our first round of feedback. But there are still significant financial implications of the ultimate outcome. Please pray for favorable decisions from the city, and that we would receive our permit quickly enough to finish construction in time for the 2024-25 school year.

  • Please pray for our partnerships. We are SO pleased that this opportunity has included providing a new home for a thriving, Bible-preaching, mission-minded local church in Summit Life Church. We are also tremendously grateful for their leadership team’s and their community’s faithful stewardship and generosity in this process. Please pray for both the school and the church, and their respective leadership teams, so that we would all collectively honor the Lord with our unity and zeal for His mission to make disciples, now and for years to come.

Why Summit?

A Letter from our Head of School

Dear Summit Family, Friends, and Community,

The Joyful Generations Campaign was launched to raise $16.5M through investors and donors for a permanent facility for Summit Classical Christian School. This facility will be a part of advancing the Gospel in the Puget Sound through the vision and mission of our school:

Cultivating generations of joyful disciples of Christ, rooted in Truth, to the glory of God

As a school that is seeking generational impact through partnership with families, we have identified the future home that will provide permanence to Summit’s vision and mission.

God has faithfully directed the steps of Summit’s Board of Directors and Leadership to procure the building for the school’s home. Now we look to you, our community, and invite you to join us in this investment in our school so we can continue to participate in our calling of cultivating joyful disciples, rooted in truth, to the glory of God.

We believe that God is at work, and we aim to be a part of what He is doing in our school community and the Church in our region.

By God’s design, the primary vehicle for human flourishing is the family. In Genesis, God gave Adam and Eve that mandate to fill and govern the earth, having dominion over and tending to the animals and garden – bringing order out of the chaos of the untamed world. In Deuteronomy 6 and Ephesians 6, we see parents are charged with diligently teaching our children God’s Word as it is in our own hearts and to bring our children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Summit seeks to partner with parents toward this end, educating students through a classical Christian model.

While we can educate our kids anywhere, in order to be a part of the work God is doing in our region, we are building an institution that outlasts all of us. We provide an educational harbor, in partnership with parents, who understand their honor, duty, and calling in their children’s education and desire to remain missional in our region.

Any school is more than just a school as education is more than just an act of imparting information. It is a fundamentally formative process, shaping the heart, mind, soul, disposition, affections, and virtues of a student.

Please prayerfully consider how God is leading you to get involved - whether that is investing time, treasure, or talent.

To God be the glory,

Greg Forrest
