The Year in Review

Highlights from 2025

With the school year just underway, we wanted to pause in thankfulness for what God has done this past year at Summit. Because of your prayers and investment of time and resources, we have continued to focus on our vision of creating joyful disciples of Christ, rooted in Truth, for the glory of God.

Looking Back: Highlights from 2025

  • Christ-Centered Environment – Our vision is to cultivate joyful disciples of Christ. For the past three years, 94% or more of families confirm the centrality of Christ in all aspects of the school environment.

  • Continued Strong Academic Results – Summit students have consistently demonstrated high scores on the nation-wide CLT, reflecting skills in reasoning, communication and knowledge of content. In 2025, Summit students scored in the top five schools in the nation on the CLT 10, and in the top 10 schools on the CLT. A special congratulations to Chase Klauder who scored in the top 50 students in the nation. Summit also would like to congratulate Cam Milojevich on being designated a National Merit Scholar. Congratulations students!

  • Real-World Connections – This past year, Summit had two students accepted to attend the Faith & Nation Student Forum. This retreat is designed exclusively for top-ranked seniors from Christian schools. Last year, Evan Myers and Mattias Johnson had the opportunity to engage with distinguished speakers (including a state governor), and explore how Biblical principals intersected with contemporary social issues.

  • Graduating Class of 2025 – We joyfully celebrated 15 graduates, our largest class yet! Graduates are continuing their pursuit of academics at Hillsdale, the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Biola, and Liberty University, to name a few. We continue to pray that their faith would take deep root as they grow in knowledge, wisdom, and clarity of God’s calling in their life.

  • Continued Demand and Strong Growth - Enrollment continues to grow reflecting the demand for Christ-centered classical education on the eastside.

    • School Year 2020-2021: 145 Students Enrolled

    • 2021-2022: 185 Students

    • 2022-2023: 230 Students

    • 2023-2024: 251 Students

    • 2024-2025: 326 Students

    • 2025-2026: 350 Students

Financial Review

For the 2024-2025 school year, total expenses were $4.3M, with payroll the largest expense at $2.9M (69% of total expenses). Building expenses were also higher than average as the school adjusted to the new facilities.

In the 24-25 school year, 88% of total expenses were covered by tuition and fees, with the remainder covered by income from facility partnerships and donor support. These reflect similar ratios of expense coverage from the 2023-2024 school year. We are taking steps toward having tuition and fees cover 100% of operating expenses.

A Summit Story

In 2021, the Mellott family joined Summit with their two sons entering Kindergarten and 7th grade. They came searching for stronger academics than they had found in public school; but what they discovered was so much more. Their family’s faith has grown, and they have been deeply impacted by the Christ-centered community.

At the start of Kindergarten, their youngest son, Jake, faced a significant speech challenge. Through the patient support of Summit’s reading specialist, his speech gradually improved and now he speaks with more clarity. Chantell, his mom, shares a glimpse of what sustained him: “One of the most encouraging things was music. Even though he struggled with his speech, he embraced music and would sing the songs he was learning about Jesus around the house. The music helped break down the speech barriers and sing the lyrics without stress.”

For Jake, the gift of singing praises to God each day transformed a struggle into joy. Keep singing, Jake!

The New Building

This past year, the support of our community meant we could:

  • Paint and carpet all classrooms, as well as paint the building exterior

  • Complete safety and aesthetic improvements to common areas and entryways

  • Invest in enhancements for K-12th grade art classes and 5th-12th grade musical strings programs

  • Close out final balances with our construction contractor

These projects help us equip our teachers to invest in the lives of our students. One of our 12th grade students recently shared what she loves about Summit (she started at Summit in Kindergarten!).

“The teachers see you, and care about you. Yes, they care about the academics, but they see you as a person first. And they also are so passionate about their subjects- it’s clear they love what they’re teaching, and they’ve gone to school for that subject, and they’re so passionate which is inspiring. Then they’re able to take these subjects and break it down and walk alongside you to help you understand it.”

Moving Forward

As we look ahead to 2026, our focus is on Furnishing and Flourishing in our new space. Our next milestone is to raise $250,000 by December 31, 2025. This milestone, which is part of our bigger plan, will allow us to specifically invest in:

  • Campus Safety and Security – After completing a security audit this fall, we have identified the next steps to ensure the campus is safe and peaceful.

  • Library and Lab Completion – With ongoing conversations between the designer, carpenter, and contractors we hope to finish the lab this winter and begin work on the library for completion by August 2026.

  • Outdoor Secure Space – We plan to establish an enclosed area of play for our youngest students.

  • Financial Sustainability – We continue building reserves to relieve the debt burden so we can keep our focus on what matters most – cultivating joyful disciples of Christ, rooted in Truth.

Will you help us move forward?

Your year-end gift, of any amount, fuels these key projects that allow our space to become the place where our school’s vision can come to fruition for the glory of God. Thank you for your heart of generosity. With your support, Summit will continue to partner with you to provide the firm foundation that is too often missing for the next generation – something different than what the world offers. Something deeper and richer and better.
