CLASSICAL CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Hearts of disciples. Classically trained.

In an atmosphere of humility and virtue, we train curious thinkers, eloquent communicators, and passionate stewards of God's gifts.

1

Grammar

Young students build a foundation of knowledge through song, story, recitation and Scripture.

2

Logic

Students become thoughtful analyzers who learn and think for themselves, weighing ideas against God's Word.

3

Rhetoric

Students become articulate in speech and written word, winsome in engagement and effective in persuasion.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Classical and Christian.

Classical

Students study the arts of language through the Trivium (grammar, logic, rhetoric) and the arts of mathematics through the Quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music). They acquire "the tools of learning": the ability to listen, read, interpret, analyze and communicate clearly.

Christian

We believe all knowledge comes from Christ, and every subject is a means to Christian wisdom and piety. College preparation is valuable, but the most important measure is that our relationships with God, our neighbors and our communities are marked by virtue and grace.

VISION OF A GRADUATE

Who our graduates become.

Everything we do, from PreK through 12th grade, points toward these six marks of a Summit graduate.

Joyful Disciples

Love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and exhibit joy, peace and hope.

Rooted in Truth

Able to contend for their faith and give a response for the hope they have.

Glorifying God

Obedient to God's calling, faithful in spiritual disciplines and service.

Curious Thinkers

Thoughtful analyzers who learn and think for themselves, and lifelong learners.

Eloquent Communicators

Articulate in speech and written word, winsome in engagement and effective in persuasion.

Passionate Stewards

Open-handed with their gifts to serve God's purpose, with gratitude and humility.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Joyfully Christian.

Summit is a Protestant school that does not teach a specific denominational set of beliefs. Our Statement of Faith sets out the key elements of Christianity we teach at every grade level. Secondary doctrines are referred back to the family and local church.

"We go to the Bible first and foremost in our quest to seek after Christ as the author and definer of what is true, good, and beautiful."
