Summit Classical Christian School was recently and formally recognized by the Washington State Board of Instruction as a private institution, authorized to operate in the state according to WAC 180-90-112. Why? Washington State Law (RCW 28A.225.010) requires children to be educated in a public school, a private school or in a home-based environment. Since Summit is neither a public or home school, we were required to register as a private school in order to assist our parents and families with complying with state law (MATT 22:21). Aside from the obvious requirement to be in compliance with state law, the benefits to Summit, our families, and students are numerous. Summit will continually review and maintain this annual status with Washington State. If at any time there is ever concern that state law infringes on Summit's mission and vision to teach from a Biblical worldview based on the full council of God or violates God's word, Summit will reconsider this process, evaluate alternatives and determine the best option that first, glorifies and obeys God and second, obeys the law of the Land.
