Headmaster

Nestled in the heart of the Snoqualmie Valley—a scenic mountain suburb 25 miles east of Seattle—Summit Classical Christian School is actively pursuing a dynamic headmaster to lead and administer currents grades K-5 in accordance with the stated vision, philosophy, and policies as determined by the board. Additionally, the headmaster will help grow the school through grade 12.

The Headmaster is responsible to implement the vision of Articles II of the School Bylaws by the establishment of a biblically-based, classical education and the resulting policies in the daily operation of the school. The Headmaster reports directly to the School Board. Job responsibilities are outlined below.

The ideal candidate should be committed to classical education, firm in his/her Christian faith, and energized by the challenge of leading a young, growing school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promote school mission and vision to all faculty, parents, students, and external community
  • Be a visible presence in the school, and effectively represent Summit to all constituencies
  • Identify annual objectives for K-5 program
  • Establish a class and teaching schedule that allows Summit to effectively fulfill its mission, both
  • academically and spiritually
  • Oversee hiring and supervision of all school employees
  • Actively build relationships with students at all grade levels
  • Provide oversight of student discipline for Summit’s program
  • Support Board policies and decisions
  • Act as effective liaison with Board and faculty/staff
  • Actively maintain spiritual disciplines of prayer and personal Bible study
  • Work with School Board to prepare yearly annual budget
  • Provide daily oversight of school budget
  • Actively supports the biblical role of parents in the education of their children
  • Communicate weekly and monthly with parents via school newsletters, email, and letters
  • Oversee school and community development including fundraising and relationship building efforts
  • Effectively represents school mission and vision to donors

    Additionally, the ideal candidate should have:

  • 3 or more years of K-12 administration with at least 2 years in classical education
  • Formal training and certification in education administration
  • Formal training in classical education
